The American Foregut Society sadly shares the news that our colleague and corporate partner, Debra Krahel, has passed away from leukemia. As President and CEO of Restech, Deb was a tireless advocate for increasing awareness of and testing for gastro-esophageal reflux. Following the growth of Restech to include therapeutic interventions for GERD, Deb worked to ensure that providers were aware of these less invasive anti-reflux options and considered them for use in their patients.
We will miss Deb’s passion for advancing our field, and for doing so through working across the traditional boundaries separating industry from clinical practice. It won’t be the same without her at the helm at Restech. We extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Restech and Krahel families.
