We are pleased to announce that the AFS annual meeting 2020 will now be held Sept 24-26 in San Francisco, CA at the Hilton Union Square! Providing a collegial, multidisciplinary forum to increase knowledge and improve patient care is foremost in our mission. Holding an annual meeting is vital to our continuing our principle of collaboration with best faculty possible.
No other American society can offer such an in-depth look at foregut disease from multiple perspectives, and we invite you to come participate in September!
Recent concerns about COVID-19, a growing number of travel bans placed on both international and domestic providers, led the Board decision to cancel the intended March 19-21, 2020. This was the only viable option that would in good conscience preserve the health and safety of our attendees and patients.
We will continue with world-class lectures, live cases, and a finale of goofs, oddities, and disasters over drinks as planned.
For those of you who have registered for the 2020 meeting, your registration will carry forward to the September meeting. If you will be unable to attend in September, we will refund your registration (and we will miss you!). Welcome to those who had schedule conficts and are now able to join us!
To our industry sponsors, we are grateful both for your support of AFS and the kind words many of you voiced regarding the difficult decision of canceling in March. We will consider that level of support applied to the September meeting.
Registration is open: The AFS in San Francisco. We will honor our early bird pricing up to the meeting.
If you paid after early bird registration ended in January, we would be glad to accept the difference as a donation to the AFS Foundation. We could also process a refund of the difference. Please notify me of your preference.
