abstractsScientific Abstract Submission:

We are now accepting abstracts in the categories of benign esophageal conditions (GERD, achalasia, motility), esophageal neoplasia (Barrett’s esophagus, cancer), stomach disorders, endoscopic foregut surgery (including endobariatrics), bariatrics related to foregut disease, education and training, new technologies, and international topics. 

Submissions will be judged based on their scientific quality, innovation, and importance to the field of foregut surgery/medicine. Abstracts will be assigned as Poster presentations or, for the highest-ranked abstracts, as Oral/Podium presentations. The submission deadline is May 1, 2026. 

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstract Submission | Abstract submissions must be 300 words or less, may include up to three supporting images, and include the following sections where applicable: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.

Video Submission | Video submissions must be no longer than 8 minutes in length. Video file size must be 500 Mb or less. Narration in the English language is mandatory and files must be submitted in .MP4 format. As part of the video submission process, a written abstract must be submitted.

Any abstract that is not selected for a podium or video presentation will be considered for an ePoster.

Submission Policy

All abstracts must be new and original content. No abstracts may be submitted that have been previously presented unless they include at least 50% new data. The abstract submitted must present original work that has not and is not expected to be presented nor published prior to the American Foregut Society Annual Meeting (including other regional, national or international meetings).
